Friday, November 7, 2008 @ 7:47 pm So I'm such a giant geek that I just ordered a combination presentation clicker/laser pointer along with some rechargeable AAA batteries. Can you tell how excited I am about teaching a class next semester? Full benefits, faculty parking space, and 401k--here I come! In other news, my friends I and P are coming down to visit next weekend from LA. We're going to the zoo, but I don't know what else we're doing. I mean, besides getting super-wasted on Saturday night. I'm geeked about my first visitors--a bit of a different kind of geeked mind you, but it still fits under the subject of this blog entry... 3 Comments. Well, at least rechargeable batteries could be used for something else. » randomjunk on 2008-11-08 01:25:14 Just a suggestion: PLEASE do not be that guy who spends the time clicking and pointing, BUT NOT TEACHING!!! Oh my goodness nothing irks me more than powerpoint and a presentation clicker and a laser pointer being used to blahblahblah about the material. "See this math here? yeah, it's math. *click* that math will get you this math. *click* blahblahblahblahbalh *click* i'm not explaining this because it should be obvious to the reader *click* " » ikimashokie on 2008-11-08 10:19:41 ryc Good. So many people fail to realize that it's sometimes easier to explain by drawing things out. » ikimashokie on 2008-11-08 11:49:25
