You know what? [EDIT]

If you want a smarter, more successful, more talented, more attractive son, then just fucking say so.

You don't have to fucking regale me with stories of your friend's son who's a chemistry Ph.D. student at Yale who was an extra in the new Indiana Jones movie and who's married to a fucking physician who's doing her residency in Texas.

I'm sorry I fucked up at college and I'm ONLY going for my Master's, I'm sorry I'm not MARRIED yet, much less to a fucking DOCTOR, and I'm sorry I was never on either the small or the big screens.

Yeah, mom, I'm a stupid, fugly retard. I'm so fucking sorry you got stuck with a fucking loser son like me.

EDIT: Whether she means to or not, sometimes the shit that comes out of her mouth has such a negative impact on me. And if she doesn't mean to slyly hint that I am altogether inadequate, then that speaks volumes as to how I think of myself sometimes. And I know that's something I need to work on, but I think my mom needs to seriously think about the impact her words might have on people, especially when those people are her children.

well, you know, if you're in CT and your wife is in TX... it's only a matter of time before she runs off with a used car salesman. Especially if you have the boorish manners of a Yalie. This will surely end in fisticuffs.

Not just your mom. People need to notice the weight in their words more often. Me, for example.

well u r not the only who felt hurt from a parent's words. i too. i can't believe a mother could tell her child to be a whore when the child is just 5 years old. and thinking the child doesn't know the meaning of whore is so underestimating for me.

don't worry so much bout it. as long u know what u want in life and knowing u r on the path of achieving ur dreams. who cares what ur parents say or people in ur environment. when u have finally achieved... u r the one that is the most happy... and other people won't even give a damn.

Tagalog, That's a girl scout cookie, right?
Let's start learning Tagalog. http://tagalog1.com/Lesson_View.asp?Lesson_ID=4

I wish they had a class here. You'll have to send me along a syllabus for yours when you take it. Meanwhile, I will think of a different language to take so we can trade. I'm thinking maybe Korean, though I should really take Spanish because I already took one class in that (la vida secreta) and I feel like it is the key to a bunch of other languages (tagalog included). Next semester I'm concentrating my secret energies on taking Javanese gamelan. I'm so excited I kind of can't wait for school to start again. Except that I can wait. And GUESS WHAT... I was watching Iron Man, and the dude was speaking Arabic, and I was like, "duuude, I totally know what he said." It was awesome.
