Since June 2006... - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Dead Emcee Scrolls by Saul Williams [61.3%] - - Junk Science: An Overdue Indictment of Government, Industry, and Faith Groups that Twist Science for Their Own Gain by Dan Agin, Ph.D. [64.4%] - - - - - - - - 1984 by George Orwell [18.8%] - - - | To be (at work) or not to be (at work)? Wednsday, April 2, 2008 @ 9:51 pm That is the question. I feel that I'm over the worst of whatever illness I have, but I'm still not operating at a level where I think it's fair for me to show up at work. It's not fair to my coworkers who might contract whatever I have. It's not fair to my boss who expects a certain level of performance when I'm at work (a level of performance I don't feel I'm up to). It's not fair to NASA who would have to pay me for half the work in twice the time due to lack of mental clarity and physical stamina. And it's not fair to me to try to meet all those expectations, handle all those dangerous chemicals, tinker with all those machines and implementations, etc., etc. Or maybe I just whine to much. Technically, though, since it IS spring break, I'm not obligated to work or anything anyway as part of the terms of my internship. I will be missing out on some extra cash, but it's not like I'll be up Shit Creek if I don't get that money. So I think at least one more day of resting up is in order. The new school term starts next week and I want to be at 100% for that for sure. Besides, there's a Battlestar Galactica marathon on SciFi tomorrow again. Why would I want to miss that? 8 Comments. take extra sick days then. » renaye on 2008-04-03 02:16:55 Your SB is now? Mine was last week and I thought we had a late break. I've never seen Battlestar.. more of a Law and Order guy. Btw, seeing as how I think you're the best person to ask on Nutang, how viable an option is nuclear power to solving the depletion of natural resources? And how far away are we from being able to utilizing fusion power to.. power stuff? » Dilated on 2008-04-03 03:33:47 Ahh Spring Break I'm on it too. I don't regret getting sick now, during break. I'd rather be sick now, when there's nothing to do, than feel like crap when I have homework to finish and practice to go to. I used to watch the first 30 minutes of those cheesy Sci-Fi movies until the monster showed up, just so I could see what it looked like :P Nowadays I don't watch much TV anymore... » The-Muffin-Man on 2008-04-03 07:38:05 Just don't go if u dont think you're not going to be able to do your best. » Nuttz on 2008-04-03 11:49:00 I still don't get why people like Battlestar Galactica so much. » randomjunk on 2008-04-03 10:47:20 Spring break seems like very important for everyone....unfortunately I am from Malaysia, i don't have spring only summer all the way so I do not understand why you guys take spring break so importantly... » elitevillain on 2008-04-04 02:17:56 Whiney Mcwhinerson. » Zanzibar on 2008-04-08 09:45:53 Then again, Battlestar Galactica... » Zanzibar on 2008-04-08 02:46:51
