Friday, February 8, 2008 @ 8:23 pm Well, folks, you are looking at the future proud new owner of a home in the Philippines. Seriously. It's my mother's family's ancestral home, and as I understand it, it will be deeded to me sometime in the future, and they are expecting me to fix it up. I think it's my prize for being the smartest kid in my family (haha!) because I'm certainly not the oldest kid in my generation. The house itself is the original Spanish colonial governor's house in the town that my mom grew up in. It's old, and therefore somewhat in a state of decay (as many things are in the Philippines), but I feel like my eye for architecture and design will be able to modernize the house while staying true to its historical roots. Now I just need to find money for that... Fortunately, everything's much cheaper over there so a dollar can go a long way. When I get pictures of the place, I'll share. 6 Comments. Nice. Dave is house hunting, I think he wants me to move in with him after we graduate. He's trying to get me a job at the place he's going to work for... » ikimashokie on 2008-02-08 11:36:28 that's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to the day I can get my own house, but it's going to be quite a while. for now, I'll settle for living by myself in an apartment. as long as I'm out of my mom's house and living alone, is all that matters to me. » LostSoul13 on 2008-02-09 12:31:52 How fun. I want to have my own house so I can buy stuff for it. :P Like mother like daughter I suppose... » randomjunk on 2008-02-09 01:00:28 INVITE ME!! I'll learn carpentry and I'll fix the house til it looks ship-shape. Seriously. 2011 or thereabouts. I would do it like in less than a second. » Zanzibar on 2008-02-09 01:18:54 Nice.. Living in old houses is awesome! Good luck getting enough funds. » Nuttz on 2008-02-09 03:39:49 wow.. historical house! » renaye on 2008-02-09 09:33:53
